Under the influence of Francois Couperin keyboard music was molded into a language of such tender beauty and refinement, his compositions are deeply poetic and characterful. The recital interweaves these divine musical jewels with pieces by Balbastre whose effervescent and bombastic music literally cries out as a final flourish of this glorious school.
